Day: Saturday 15th March
Time: 10-4

Skills needed: Students must be able to knit the basic knit stitch
Sarah is a long-standing committee member of Dornoch Fibre Fest. Her love of knitting was reignited thanks to guerrilla yarnbombing in order to promote Fibre Fest.
Her passion for Fair Isle and Scandinavian stranded colour-work came from studying under a number of knitting tutors.
In this Masterclass Sarah will pass on her knowledge of these skills and her experience of knitting and designing Fair Isle hats; you will learn how to knit a cowl using stranded colour work in the round. The cowl has been designed especially for Fibre Fest and can be knitted as a Fair Isle or Scandinavian design.
You will learn the Long Tail cast on, how to join your work in the round, knit with two (or three) colours and follow a stranded colour work pattern. You will also discuss how to choose colours, designing with different colours, adapting patterns, blocking and different edging finishes.
The pattern, circular needle and yarn will be provided.
