Dornoch Fibre Fest

Fibre Fest 2026   14th - 15th March

Welcome to Fibre Fest 2026.

Fibre Festivals are popping up all around the country but we continue on our journey to make Dornoch Fibre Fest enticing, inspiring, a place to meet up with like minded people and to learn something new. Most of our traders are local to the Highlands and many will showcase fantastic local provenance products.

This year we are delighted to introduce Gilly Bridle to you with her fascinating life as an artist and designer. Coming down from Shetland she will give the Friday 13th March evening talk and go on to teach a Papercut Lampshade class. We also welcome back Liz Gaffney who will be teaching two Botanical Printing classes. The courses will include - Botanical Printing - Lace Knitting - Fair Isle Knitting - Weaving - Sewing with retro machines - Patchwork Cushion making - Papercut Lampshade making - Crochet - Mending - Wet Felting and Dry felting. Further details to follow and booking will open on the 1st of January 2026

This year we will also have two free drop-in sessions in darning and crochet, so there will be plenty of opportunity to learn something new or to further your skills.

The Dornoch Stitchers have been busy again and have produced three Tapestry panels featuring the Flora and Fauna of Dornoch which you can see at the Historylinks Museum. The Museum will also host an exhibition of Historic Golf Costumes, and continues to display Tapestries from the Highlands and Islands Tapestry.

There will be two sales halls at Dornoch Fibre Fest, the Social Club and West Church Hall, with free entry to both. There may be found a wide range of textiles and accessories with some exciting new arrivals. However the Stashbuster stall will be taking a sabbatical this year but hopes to be back soon.

To enable free entry to the trading halls we will again be holding a raffle which will be drawn on Sunday afternoon in the Social Club.

The Highland Guild of  Weavers, Spinners and Dyers will be demonstrating in the Dornoch Hub over the weekend. Their members are always happy to show the crafts that they are skilled at and you will be welcome to try your hand, please just ask.

We wish everyone attending Fibre Fest a wonderful weekend of fibre filled fun.
