Fibre Fest

The 2016 Fibre Fest was held 11-13th March 2016

The website will be left in place to provide a flavour of the event and contact with those taking part.

The dates of the 2017 event will be announced as soon as possible.

We welcome you all to the 2016 - 7th Fibre Fest, our annual weekend celebration of fibre and woollen based crafts.

This year our Masterclass tutors are passing on their skills in Creative Machine Embroidery, Indigo Dyeing and Fair Isle Knitting. Classes which cover a variety of craft interests which we hope will inspire you and enable you to enhance your skills!

In addition we have drop-in demonstrations available throughout the weekend, free of charge.

An increased number of traders of wool, material and fibre supplies means that we have again expanded. The Dornoch Social Club and West Church Hall will be full of interesting and beautiful stands, and you will also have the opportunity of discussing your needs, and picking up tips, from very knowledgable suppliers.

Fibre Fest is run by a small group of enthusiastic volunteers and we welcome your feedback and suggestions.   A  suggestions box will be available.

Fibre Fest has initiated a local knitting and sewing group which meets on Thursday afternoons during
the winter, and holds occasional workshops during the year. Details are available on our Facebook page.

Our raffle helps to finance the costs of running Fibre Fest and this year the main prize is a Singer Sewing machine!     Other  prizes include vouchers and a signed copy of the new book by Masterclass tutor Wendy Dolan, entitled “Layer, Paint and Stitch”.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to Fibre Fest, and on behalf of
the traders, tutors and exhibitors, thank you all for your support.

We look forward to seeing you all in Dornoch in March 2016.
