 Jane Bissett is a Shepherd and hand spinner to the award winning Kennixton and Cariad flocks from the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales.

Follow her journey from grass roots dog training to the start of the Kennixton Flock, and the ups and downs of breeding and showing Shetland and Longwool sheep, with wool as the focus.

During 2024 Jane embarked on a very personal project - 'Sheep to Shawl' a focus on taking an individual Shetland sheep and showcasing the beauty of its fleece in a totally hand produced shawl.  

Jane founded the Glamorgan Smallholders and is area representative for the Shetland Sheep Society

" I breed Shetland and Icelandic sheep as both pedigree and commercial flocks. Conservation and education is high on my agenda and the flock are available for educational visits off farm at schools and events. I also produce interesting fleeces and sheepskins as well as knitting yarn"
