Originally from Orkney, Sheena was a Primary School teacher for thirty years in Inverness then a freelance quilting teacher, travelling around the UK and abroad. She has won many awards for her work and compiles colour collections of threads for Aurifil.

In this Masterclass you will be using a range of embroidery stitches and quilting techniques to craft and embellish a wall hanging of embellished circles.

Sheena will teach a number of ways to split up a circle; different ways of sewing on sequins and buttons; various hand embroidery stitches; the use of threads; methods to hand or machine quilt the background around the circle and how to bind the finished work.

The circle will be hand stitched but the background can be hand or free motion quilted.

Each student should almost complete embellishing a 5 inch circle on a 9 inch square although sizes can be changed if desired.

Requirements: A list of basic sewing threads, materials and needles etc. to be brought to the class will be sent to all attendees.
