Masterclass 1: Playful Peg Loom

Tutor: Stephanie Fradette

Location: Social Club - Struie Room

Day: Saturday 15th March

Time: 10 - 4

Cost: £60

Skills needed: No previous experience necessary

Stephanie is the fibre artist behind the brand ‘Le Petit Moose’, a nod to her French-Canadian roots. The Scottish-based artist blends bold colours into her woven, knotted and tufted wall hangings, showcasing rich textures, contemporary design and craftsmanship.

Stephanie has been weaving since 2014, enjoys delivering community- building creative workshops across the UK and has just published her first book ‘Playful Peg Loom Weaving’.

During this workshop you will create a woven wall hanging which incorporates a variety of weaving techniques creating textures, length and shapes. The beauty of the peg loom means that you don’t need to worry about tension or complicated techniques, which leaves you free to get creative with your chosen fibres.

You’ll be creating a large sampler wall hanging on the day for you to take home. We will be primarily working with Aran/chunky and super chunky yarns, therefore if you have any special fibres you would like to incorporate into your piece, feel free to bring these along.

All materials are included.
