Tania set up her business, TJFrog, in 2015 launching at the Edinburgh Yarn Festival. Based in Skye Tania is an experienced tutor in Dorset Button making.
In this class, based on the traditional techniques of Dorset Button making, casting, slicking, laying and rounding, Tania will show you how to create a beautiful Dorset Button tree brooch, with French knots and beads added to embellish the design.
The brooch will be made using a hollow brass ring, double knit yarn finished off with hand dyed yard and beads.
The finished brooch is approximately 4.5cm in width and would look great as an embellishment while also being functional as a shawl or jacket pin.
Tania will chat about the history of Dorset Buttons and illustrate with the aid of samples how to add them to your yarn projects. A handout is provided for the workshop and future use.
All materials are included.
