Skill Focus: Using a wire frame to shape and build strength to felt sculptures, and surface detailing.
Fi Oberon is author of 'The Natural World of Needle Felting', published by Jacqui Small, and as one of the UK's leading needlefelters she is much in demand both as an experienced tutor and for her gorgeous animal sculptures.
Fi takes inspiration from the countryside and seaside in the north of England where she lives, but for Dornoch Fibre Fest she has created her first Highland Wildcat.

This workshop will bring together a variety of techniques for sculpting your own model from wool
fibres and pre-felt. You will learn how to use a wire frame, how to shape, build strength and add
surface detail. There will be a variety of fibres to use and a selection of needle felting tools
demonstrated for you to try.
All materials are supplied and will cost £4.50, payable to the tutor on the day.
